How many times today
Did I count them only to
Run out of space in the mind
To fully recollect the joy
That flows from the memories?-
The warm drops of happy tears-
Warm waters that cleanse the eyes
As they realize the thousand moments
And how they blend together
Forming the matrix of a fulfilled life-
Accepting imperfection in the execution-
Appreciative in the extreme.
Days largely spent in a calm state.
Winding walks through the city.
Windy trails along the shore-
The brilliance of nature
Matched by the joy in some children's eyes
As they race by
Oblivious to the obstacles ahead-
Many placed there by "well-meaning" adults
Who often paint life as onerous-
Something to be endured.
While the fortunate child
Hears of opportunity & enjoyment-
All the passions of love-
And the efforts of parenthood-
All great joys.
Both the smiles & the frowns.
Just turn those upside down-
Imagine those faces coming at you-
Each one with a smile
Instead of a frown when you are around.
