Touching Earth
Stars bring with them certain memories
She was the brightest of them all
Standing out from everyone else
Wherever she went, same result
So way down the road
Two lives merged, making two more
Others found his mate
Youngest, sturdy, strong and smart
Ready to find his own way
And the remaining half fully cognizant
Of the blessedness he has had
Again, the rhythm of a family plays out
So slowly, over decades
Filled with laughter, some tears, some doubt
But everything it did appears logical
If you just suspend disbelief.
How could a chance meeting
Turn to a life of value?
How does it happen, exactly,
And to whom?
Must you be born under a lucky star?
Or be the heir to a golden heart?
Perhaps just another human
Seeking a fresh start
Or a convert from the salt flats of divorce
Or a refugee from meaningless escorts
Or nothing of the sort,
But still human & reaching out for love
No mystery girl
You were a lovely rose
You walked like an angel
Touching Earth for the first time.
