There Are No Mysteries
There are no mysteries
We invent them
To make our lives interesting
As though the processes of human life
Were synthesized in your progression
Through the inevitable stages
Of growth, development, optimization & decline
Always resulting in the demise of the body
With highly divergent results left behind
Some are the holy grail personified-
The givers & educators & doctors & honest souls
Who make life beautiful
If you just really look
Some are benign
They just are
And who is to say
They are less than you are-
So let them be
In their solitary entity
Aloof to all else
But their own body
Some are vicious
They don't want affection
They will snarl
And tear your heart from its moorings
Leave the imposters to their greedy devices
Settle in to the beauty within-
The sense of oneness with humanity
And yet loathing conformity.
As if what you seek most
You despise in others
As a way to avoid self-responsibility
