The Pacific Blushed
The reason I would perform an act
That has no beneficial results
Is because of a lack of the necessary consciousness
To evaluate the pre-existing causative factors
The timing of my entry
An inability to accurately predict results
Even an unwillingness to concern myself
With the effects on others or myself
Given certain actions.
Let us walk into the tunnel of war
Where all is fair
And nothing is as it seems.
Given that the goal is survival -
After all, this is not a boardgame -
Or any extent of a dream
This is culmination of a long life.
From where does this drive exist
That forces one into deep circumstances
Where life is held at bay
While you peer over the edge of the cliff
Wondering if she really is all that -
And if you are really where it is at
And if together the world sings sweetly
Morning, noon, night & in between
That is love dear
Yes, that dear is love.
Something in the eyes
A look of constant seduction
As if just breathing
Was enough to compel connection
And then she smiled
And the Pacific blushed
