Sometimes in the quiet of night
A soft melody floats down
From a solitary cloud
Drifting across the depth of a purple void
Sometimes I hear a few words
Mostly gentle caressing tones
That seem to convey a vast emptiness
Filled with love
Letting me know
That kindness here
Is the way of the universe
Absorbing us all
In the flow of consciousness
That is the order of everything.
Sometimes the voice fades
Not to be heard for days
And then returning
As if never gone
And once again
I feel surprisingly fortunate
To have lived such a long, healthy life
And then come across
A new form of communication.
Who would think
That by immersing in silence
You could hear the deep meaning
That is hidden behind the noise.
Making one wonder
If everyone has a different voice to hear
And is it a language
That everyone can comprehend
Or just a fortunate few.
