Oh yes you will encounter
Even decades of listening
Doctrines, philosophies, religions & beliefs
All the lengthy monologues
About the beauty of their view
With a sense of pity for those
Who see a different hue
Despite a human search for truth
And the obvious nature of it being elusive
Some draw a distinction
As to the validity of sources of inspiration.
Some see the Christ Jesus
As God incarnate
Others have different ideas
Of the message from God
And who/what/where & how is God?
And, how would we, humans, ever know?
How would frail organisms
8 billion of us
Ever know the truth of creation?
How would we ever know
What occurs, if anything, after we die?
How would we know what a soul is?
Do we know what life is like
For those who believe in living a good life—
Honest, truthful, giving, humble & productive
Is reward enough in & of itself
With no consideration of an after-life?
Is it not presumptuous, arrogant & foolish
To think that some aspect of "you" is immortal
In any way, shape or form—
Much less the denomination of your particular God?
Sit quietly & reflect on the blessings of peace.
