ROTATING, ENDLESSLY
The insatiable enormous ego
The American politician
Instantly converting disaster to heroics
Having saved democracy
Their sacred halls of Congress
From desecration by the mob
Carrying the same flag
As flies in the courtyard
These seditionists should be jailed
Say the badges and pols
So say the pontificators and the faces
That so obligingly nod
At each point that concludes
That their side is righteous and true
Simply fighting oppression
And self-interest of the rich
Always the rich
Some dinosaur, dead on the beach
The rich . . . who are they?
The shareholders, of course
And who are they?
Why it is us of course.
Eating our young
Consuming dividends
Accruing capital growth
Soon to pass on
To Our Youngsters
What has not been spent
So the world spins
On love and torment
Positive and negative
Rotating, endlessly 210106.3
