Robots in Full Costume
Let us extend our view
Into the next decade or two -
A time when robots walk the earth
Seemingly sentient beasts
Yet temporarily immortal
As they roam the offices, the factories, the beat
Enforcers of the realm
An obvious choice
After Tesla, Google, Meta, Nvidia et al
Invest a trillion bucks or more
Government, your cheerful congressman,
Smiling senator, don't ya know
Will buy a million robots
To arm the platoons
To send across the borders
Of places like Gaza & Khartoum.
Send in the clowns
Was a wistful song
Morphed for the times -
Send in the robots in full costume
Complete with A.I. software
To be updated, down & up & sideways loaded,
To be controlled by computers
Running on A.I.
Learning every day
Updating software for each encounter
A military unit so strong
As to laugh at bullets
As they ricochet off the titanium torsos
Unimpeded in the conquest
Sort of the nuclear version
Of man to man combat -
Robot wars.
