Remain in the Center
There they go -
Off into their individual orbits
Rotating around the family home
Occupied solely by those who loved
Their place in the world,
And the circumstances that surround them.
Able to see forever -
The near-eternal beauty of nature.
Able to hold the ones you love
Free from the observation of others.
So the planets attract moons?
What aspects of themselves will evolve.
What successes or failures?
What loves, what losses?
We sit at the center -
Watching all things happen
Whether we approve or not.
Able to accept the changes with equanimity.
Willing to live individually -
Minimally affected by the tumult & anger
That floods in & out of society
Like a purple tide -
Poisonous & strangely magnetic
Drawing the loose crustaceans
To poison themselves
As they gorge on the blooms.
Taking heed from the psalms.
Find peace in God's will.
Hold to your ethical values.
Stick to your guns.
Don't be swayed by self-interested people.
Remain in the center of your own solar system.
