Orchid
The cavern of a lobby
Couldn't contain the glow
The orchid blossom inside, emerged
Through eyes so deep you sink in,
Feeling like staying there a while
Seeing the world through them
Wondering about the future
Yet confident at the same time
Making a stand-
Hoping for a little help
To descend from our merciful God,
But resolved to go it alone if need be
Looking for the magic pill...
The search that never ends
No matter how or why it started
With no finish line in sight
So off she whooshes
In a cloud of swirls
Able to spin and enthrall
Mortal men and jealous women
A fog comes in
Very gentle at first
Her velvet touch
Crosses the bay
The body awakens
And flies off into the night
The long strides
Of a soul meant to fly
But momentarily
In contact with the ground
Until you realize you really
Are in the air, weightless
Most of the time if you focus on it.
