Media Infused Ignorance
How do you receive information?
Politics? economics? foreign policy? employment?
What numbers do you find important?
Taxes? income? debt? inflation? prices?
Through what filter?
In whose opinion?
What study? report? document?
Who gathered the data?
What technologies were used?
What is the margin of error?
What polls do you trust as accurate?
Do you care if the poll is accurate?
What exact questions were asked?
Who was polled?
Under what circumstances?
Go under the umbrella
Go in the injury tent
Examine your sources-
Are they making you sick?
When are you going to reach out-
Absorb the information, data & opinions
Of sources disparate & varied
In order to come to your own opinions.
You have a civic obligation
To be informed about public issues.
This is why you have the right to vote.
No constitution would allow existential questions
By an ignorant voting public.
Ignorance is exacerbated
When it is only fed misleading information.
Exercise your rights & obligations-
Weigh a variety of sources
In forming opinions regarding public issues.
