MAINTAINING A VICTIMLESS ATTITUDE
Maintaining a victimless attitude
Akin to the “Defiant Ones”
The Kramer film of 2 escaped prisoners
One black, one white, chained together.
Fleeing the dogs
With neither dragging the other
Working together, despite hate and prejudice
In the name of hope.
A country with neither political side
Dragging on the chain that binds them together.
The electorate should smell them
Like chase dogs on the scent
But the press covers the smell
Hides, confuses, conflates
Because of ratings and comfort and money.
Status quo with big government
Dominating in media central –
New York, D.C., L.A. and S.F. –
Spinning the news softly
Like a dangerous kiss
From an agent saboteur –
A woman on a mission to serve
An agent of her future
Yet the individual must survive –
Self as well as others.
Do so reasonably
Without damage inflicted willingly.
Teach what you know to be true
Provide ample room in each opinion
To allow others dignity and respect.
Only then will you have a chance
