Shifting into fifth gear
The acceleration easing
Into a steady pace
Taking each turn gradually
Hitting the apex
Striding down the next straightaway -
A loping coyote
Covering long distances, appearing effortless
Laughing eyes mock the strugglers
For their blindness.
Do they not see the beauty
In front of them today
Or in the after-effects of their life?
There is always relief in reality -
Forget your unreachable dreams
And embrace today -
The last gasp of love
Or the first sensuous kiss -
Let them blend into a full life.
Neither faith in political views
Or escape into vague theologies.
A view of life as an observation organism
With an ability to see each person
As they are
Without classification or category -
Each with two eyes to see
And two ears to hear
But with vast differences
In perception & retention.
All of us in view
Of all of the others -
Deciding daily who to be
