Flight Plan
One seems to say
There is an after-world
Of peace & grace
Another discourages views
That project beyond
Our known world
The curiosity may be
That both recommend
Similar behavior
Stay humble
Regard the other
With kindness & good will
One seems determined
To find a way
To extend existence
A spirit, a soul
Something to transcend
The physical
Does the other
Abandon such concepts
Seeing what is
As completely whole -
Not needing an auxiliary form
That would allow
For fiction & dreams to merge
In the mist
Of an imagined cloud.
Somewhere in between we land
Separate agents -
Each of us
With our own flight plan.
