We are thinking about something other

Than the activity of the moment

That we are "currently engaged" in

Some further assert that during this time

We are performing self-talk

And from there assert

That the importance of such self-talk is crucial

It is logical to think that we are evaluating

Various choices to one or more issues

And seeing correlations between them.

Such as following a train of events

That may occur upon the start of an action

Evaluating options is critical to success

Each step must be seen ahead

Else you walk into trouble needlessly

As though oblivious to the consequences

This is ingrained in all children

We guide & reward them & punish them

So that they develop a strong regard

For the consequences of their actions

We carry this forward all our lives

Our self-talk is part of the process

As is talking to others who can or will help

But we alone are responsible for our choices

Move the inner thoughts around

In your most constructive way -

Focus for a while, then leave them alone.

See the outcome before the act
