CAN YOU JUST JUMP BACK IN?

 

Can you just jump back in?

The sensuous sea

Masks its infinitudes

Appearing calm, bright and amusing

But below the surface is dark

Deep and foreboding

As a furtive soul can hide its scheming

            Wondering about the chances –

            To dive in again and swim

            Hoping for brave destiny

            To take a hand and deal a win

            For the sincere effort

            If not for pure merit

            Then a token for the highway.

But if so determined as to sit quietly

Observing from the shore

Intently with a kind disposition

Would that amount at some time in the future

To an acceptance of fate and its tumult?

Could that person be happy and free?

Even with the diamonds of golden memories?
