AND THERE SHE WAS
“So this desire for another human being
Comes and goes?”
Yes Plato
With the tide.
“This sense of dread
If not united?”
Yes, searching one
With the tide.
“And in the vacuum
Where the goal eludes?”
We proceed amicably
With patience and hope.
“And when the goal
Is not in sight?”
Adjust your vision
And see what is visible.
Such pompous answers
From one so fortunate
But what would be the response
From the lonesome hobo
Who dines and thinks and talks alone?
Oh the pain he must feel –
Unless some force had lifted the anvil
That hung from his neck
Making him see only the ground –
And exhausted with each step
Then the knot came undone
And the weight tumbled down
And with the strength of one who has suffered
He looked far and straight ahead.
And there she was 200710.1
