ALL ABOUT HER
No one ever going to feel sorry for me
Whether here, there or in-between
One who had it all
In the palm of the hand
In the voice that sugared sweetness
Upon this favored head
Once a bad man and egoist as well
She could take him dancing
Any evening there was a ball
And if there wasn’t one scheduled
They pulled it off
In the parking lot overlooking the sea
Where no one could see
And if they did the fog was an alibi
It was a ’72 Malibu, copper, white drop top
We were not lovers
But Marilyn, well, we had sex
And then it was a pantheon of bodies and faces
A parade across my mind
Of women, girls, women, their smiles
Until one became obvious
The choice beauty
The prettiest and smartest
No fool, and who was sweeter?
Maybe Snow White
But a close call and I was the Prince
What? Yes, believe it
Pervaded my mentality
Stunning, the whole thing
It was really all about her
Her view, her beauty, her kindness
Me, a willing tool
