The role of a human life

To fill in the blanks

Between spirit & flesh

To discover which governs

At this stage in the process

Of the evolution of the soul

From inception, maturation & extinction of the body

To the transference to an unknown state

About which we can only speculate

But which promises hope as we visualize possibilities

Today the leader of the west

Talked to the leader of the east

And it lasted two hours -

Meaning the future of mankind

Has been extended - in that

Before either one sends the signal

To launch one or more nuclear missiles

They will talk again -

Maybe for hours -

And they will know one thing

Above all else -

They will want to live

And if they keep talking

They will live

And if they stop talking

There is a chance of a strike

And from there - there is end in sight

Except one sight -

And it is too sad to describe -

Else the soul could lose itself

In the void

As a bubble in the deep blue sea
